Bright Minds Developing Solutions that will Address Community-based Problems
HBCU I.C.E Hackathon Academy
Coming in 2016
HBCU ICE Hackathon Tech for Empowerment Digital and social media have proven to be powerful platforms that can drive social change and empower individuals to become agents of change within their own communities.
To address this opportunity, the HBCU ICE initiative is launching the ICE Hackathon series as a vehicle to engage African-American students on our campuses and youth in our communities. The HBCU ICE Hackathon will challenge students and hack-teams to develop solutions that will address community-based problems. A major goal of the ICE Hackathon Series is to engage, encourage and empower HBCU students and African-American youth in surrounding communities.
We rolled out our first event in this series, the HBCU I.C.E. Hack powered by Qeyno Labs and plan to roll out a full series of hackathons in 2016.
